In 1991 the “Kölner Runde” was founded – motivated through the exchange of experiences. In 2013, the name changed into “Verband Deutscher Studierendeninitiativen e.V.” until in the summer of 2014, the association containing the eight biggest student organizations (AIESEC, BDSU, bonding, btS, ELSA, Market Team, MTP and Weitblick) in Germany was founded.
Following the vision of “the united and heard voice of student commitment”, the VDSI fights for the recognition of student involvement in voluntary organizations. With more than 25.000 members in 70 cities, the VDSI already has a strong foundation in Germany and is growing more and more.
Next to the fight for recognition of student commitment, the VDSI also offers a platform to encourage the exchange between the different student organizations.
